On the 5th day God created animals....

In the last hour two good friends have posted statuses about their pets on Facebook....

The first made my heart ache.  A friend is putting her dog of 13 years to sleep this afternoon.  She and her family have loved this dog like another member of the family.

The other post warmed my heart.  It said:

"I wish I could put my bird on a leash and fly him next to me as I ride my bike.  I love him. :)"

Pets leave a mark on our hearts like no other....

It's been almost 10 months and I still check for Maddy when I come in the door, wake up in the morning, go to bed, when I come in the kitchen and see her spot on the back door rug.

In the next life I know it'll be a fight between Ally and I on who gets to keep Maddy... guess we'll have to be big girls and share.

Playing an old game.....

..... Ally and I. It happened as we were driving down Ustick Rd. the other day and saw a car with a Hawaii license plate.... then 20 seconds later Connecticut and Pennsylvania.  Now, if you've never been on Ustick Rd, you might not understand the significance of that. Ally got Alaska yesterday. Guess I better get out more.

2017

Many many moons since my last post. I do think about it every once in a while..... posting, that is. I only keep this blog for myself.  And while it says that it gets visits from places like Russia, Germany, China, France, the Middle East, and the US... I think it's probly mostly people that stumble across it looking for what a sweet potato is. This blog keeps me honest.  With myself.  I'm pretty much an open book to the rest of the world, there are only a few things that I keep absolutely cocooned up tightly... maybe cocooned up tightly isn't the right phrase?  Maybe more like tucked away in the drawer of an old dresser that belonged to an ancestor and is kept in a corner of the attic?  Hmm.  Now I'm thinking how tranquil and secluded that would be... quiet, still.  I'd need an overstuffed chair with a blankie and a lamp... and I'd fall asleep next to the dresser, holding those things I keep to myself.  But, I digress.  I totally want ...

Trewly

God, shield my beloved, my white dove. And the.... .... child that she may one day bear. Preserve her from violence.... ..... and from harm. In this place.... .... and every place. On this night... .... and on every night.
