Was shopping at Costco the other day and came across a man at a table doing a book signing. He was local author, Aaron Patterson, promoting a book series he's writing with another man, Chris White. Since they're both from Boise I thought I'd be supportive, so I bought 'Airel'.
I've read most of it and have found it's sort of a 'Lord of the Rings' meets 'Beauty and the Beast' meets the history of the Greek Gods and Goddesses and the Bible, with a bit of 'Twilight' thrown in.
Anyway, I did come across this part (pg. 338) last night, and though the concept/idea is as old as time, it's something that (especially) YA girls need to keep hearing...

"It means that you have to find out who you are.
Who are you, Airel?
Do not be defined by the man you love;
do not lose who you are in the love of another.
We can only love the way we were created to if we are first whole in ourselves."
