Was shopping at Costco the other day and came across a man at a table doing a book signing. He was local author, Aaron Patterson, promoting a book series he's writing with another man, Chris White. Since they're both from Boise I thought I'd be supportive, so I bought 'Airel'. I've read most of it and have found it's sort of a 'Lord of the Rings' meets 'Beauty and the Beast' meets the history of the Greek Gods and Goddesses and the Bible, with a bit of 'Twilight' thrown in. Anyway, I did come across this part (pg. 338) last night, and though the concept/idea is as old as time, it's something that (especially) YA girls need to keep hearing... "It means that you have to find out who you are. Who are you , Airel? Do not be defined by the man you love; do not lose who you are in the love of another. We can only love the way we were created to if we are first whole in ourselves."
